Citroen revives the 2CV for an electric age
xCruzo Brief
Citroën has brought back its 2CV brand with a new concept aimed at boosting sales of electric cars in a tough market. The vehicle was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show as a small retro-styled city runabout and is planned as a concept rather than an immediate production model. Citroën’s goal is to have a version in showrooms by 2028. Priced expectations are below £15,000 for the future electric small car. The original 2CV launched in 1948 for post-World War II Europe, designed to be cheap, robust, and easy to repair for farmers and countryside life.
