EXCLUSIVE: IPO for humanoid robot maker Boston Dynamics unlikely in 2027, executive says

Boston Dynamics, the humanoid robot unit of Hyundai Motor Group, is unlikely to pursue an IPO in 2027, a senior executive told Reuters. The executive, speaking on condition of anonymity because the information is confidential, said the company still has not deployed its flagship Atlas robots at scale and remains unprofitable, warning, “It won’t be easy.” The comments suggest that a U.S. debut could be years away despite investor interest sparked by Hyundai’s robotics push. Hyundai bought a controlling stake in Boston Dynamics in 2021 and plans to make it a wholly owned subsidiary after acquiring about a 10% stake from SoftBank announced in July.
