Kyle Larson ended a 51-race winless streak Sunday, beating Hendrick teammate Alex Bowman in NASCAR Cup Series overtime at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Ill. The defending champion earned his first win since May 2025 at Kansas Speedway, defending the lead on three restarts in the final two laps of regulation and then surviving seven laps of overtime. The race, originally scheduled for 240 laps, drew a season-high 18 cautions and multiple brake failures and spinouts. Larson’s No. 5 Chevrolet victory boosted his playoff position, moving him to second in the Chase standings, nine points behind Denny Hamlin.
