Fiat channels original Multipla for retro four-seat microcar
Fiat is set to launch the Multiplina, a new tiny four-seat electric vehicle with retro styling cues, positioned between its current microcars and the larger Fiat 500. The car will be previewed as the Multiplina Concept during a micromobility event at Vatican City, with the production version planned for 2028. Fiat said the Multiplina will sit above the two-seat Topolino but below the current Fiat 500 and an affordable electric city car due later this year. The concept name references the 1956 600 Multipla, while its footprint is described as similar to the 1957 500, putting it just under three metres long. Built to L7 quadricycle regulations, it targets a top speed of 55 mph, compared with Topolino’s 28 mph, and Fiat claims an extended range using a reworked platform shared with Topolino and the Tris commercial vehicle.
