Ford to recall more than 741,000 U.S. vehicles due to park system issue, NHTSA says
Ford will recall 741,195 vehicles in the U.S. due to a transmission-related defect that can damage the park system, potentially allowing the vehicles to roll away, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Tuesday. The recall covers certain 2018-2021 Navigator and Expedition models, 2020-2021 Explorer and Lincoln Aviator models, and 2021 Ford F-150 vehicles. NHTSA states that dealers will update the software and inspect and replace any damaged transmission components free of charge. Separately, Ford is also recalling 36,046 Bronco vehicles in the U.S. because improperly secured fender flares may detach and become a road hazard, increasing crash risk. Dealers will inspect and repair or replace the fender flares as necessary at no cost, according to NHTSA.
