Georgia High School Football: Rivals300 No.1 QB CJ Cypher leads Carrollton (Ga.) to opening win

Carrollton (Ga.) quarterback CJ Cypher, ranked No. 1 in the Rivals300 class of 2029, delivered in his opening game as the Trojans rolled past Rome (Ga.) 55-7. A Miami commit and a four-star prospect, Cypher was named the top quarterback in the initial Rivals300 top 100 for 2029 and also ranked No. 10 nationally. He threw for more than 255 yards and four touchdowns in the win. Rivals Rankings Director Charles Power highlighted Cypher’s consistency, saying the program had long tracked him since middle school and praising his decision-making and accuracy. Cypher posted 2,178 passing yards and 26 touchdowns during his freshman season. Carrollton improved to 1-0 and is set to play next week against Decatur Columbia (Ga.).
