Hyundai and Kia’s record-breaking U.S. sales streak continued in July, driven by electrified models. Hyundai sold 82,480 vehicles last month, up 4% and marking its best-ever July, while Kia delivered 75,867, also a new July record. Both brands set records for hybrids and pure EVs. Hyundai’s hybrid sales rose 35% year over year, led by the Sonata HEV, Elantra HEV and Tucson HEV. Kia’s hybrid sales jumped 108%, with the Sportage hybrid, Carnival hybrid and Sorento hitting new monthly highs. EV sales were mixed: Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 fell 38% to 3,636; Kia’s EV6 is down about 34% this year. Later in 2026, Kia will launch the EV3, expected to start around $35,000 in 2027.
