Hyundai puts Data Flywheel in full operation, to roll-out drive-assist in 2029

Hyundai says it has moved its “Data Flywheel” into full operation, advancing its autonomous driving strategy with a faster loop of data collection, AI training, validation and deployment. The plan is built around two tracks. In collaboration with NVIDIA, Hyundai’s group will integrate NVIDIA’s vehicle AI computing platform and autonomous driving software into its software-defined vehicle architecture. Production models with NVIDIA-backed Level 2+ driving are targeted for the first half of 2028, Level 2++ for the second half of 2028, and Hyundai also plans progressive standardization of sensor systems across Hyundai Motor, Kia, 42dot and Motional using NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion 10. Separately, 42dot and Hyundai’s AVP Division are developing Atria AI, aiming at Level 2++ vehicles in the second half of 2029.
