Hyundai Recalls 96,310 Tucsons Because the Dashboard Might Just Decide to Reboot While You're Driving

Hyundai has issued a recall for 96,310 Tucson vehicles because the digital instrument cluster may reboot while driving, potentially removing key driving information. The recall covers 2025–2026 Tucson models across gas, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid trims. When the cluster goes dark, owners can lose the speedometer, fuel gauge, and multiple warning indicators, and the head-up display may also shut off. Hyundai reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that no crashes, fires, or injuries have been linked to the issue so far. The remedy is a software update, initially requiring a visit to a dealership, though Hyundai also plans an over-the-air update for vehicles capable of receiving it. Affected owners will receive a mailed letter with instructions, and owners can check eligibility using their VIN.
