On 15 September at IAA Transportation in Hanover, Germany, a Europe-wide hydrogen push was unveiled by a consortium including Volvo, Daimler Truck, Toyota, Air Liquide, TotalEnergies, Teal Mobility and MB Energy. Germany is set to act as the launch pad, aiming to replicate the model across Europe and support hydrogen truck and bus deployments by 2030. The effort also benefits automakers preparing compatible refuelling sites for fuel cell vehicles. BMW says it is moving iX5 Hydrogen toward series production, partnering with Toyota on fuel-cell technology. BMW is validating the system for robustness and reliability, including 700-bar storage and a new Hydrogen Flat Storage layout under the floor, targeting 385 miles of range.
