Marc Marquez not celebrating MotoGP title yet: "I don't want to fall into the trap"

Marc Marquez left Sepang with a decisive boost in the MotoGP title chase, carrying a 44-point advantage over second-placed Jorge Martin, who is currently injured, and a 67-point gap over Marco Bezzecchi. After eliminating Bezzecchi from contention with a commanding win in Malaysia, Marquez could clinch the world championship as early as this week’s Qatar GP if he outscores Martin by 30 points and Bezzecchi by eight. Marquez executed a controlled strategy: he passed pole-sitter Alex Marquez at the start and then extended his lead, finishing more than four seconds ahead of Pedro Acosta. Despite the momentum, Marquez said he won’t “fall into the trap” of assuming it’s already done and plans to rest before traveling to Qatar.
