Marquez wins third straight Aragon Grand Prix

Marc Marquez strengthened his fight for the MotoGP title by winning the Aragon Grand Prix for the third year in a row, delivering another major result for Ducati. The win cut the gap between him and championship leader Jorge Martin to 19 points from. Marquez, 33, earned his eighth triumph at MotorLand after an intense race with Aprilia pole-sitter Marco Bezzecchi. Having won Saturday’s sprint, he nearly collided as he surged past Bezzecchi at high speed on lap six. Marquez moved to 237 points, leapfrogging Bezzecchi (232) into second behind Aprilia’s Martin (256), who finished fifth. Bezzecchi, 27, took third and KTM’s Pedro Acosta was second.
