Myles Rowe Hopeful For 2027 INDY 500 Ride: 'I Think I'm Ready'
Myles Rowe, in his third year in Indy NXT, said he is hopeful he can earn a ride for the 2027 Indianapolis 500. After a last-to-first win earlier this month at World Wide Technology Raceway (Gateway), the Abel Motorsports driver emphasized his strength on ovals while speaking as a guest on FS1’s INDYCAR warmup show at Road America. The 26-year-old is the only Black driver to have won an Indy NXT race and has three career victories. He currently sits seventh in the 2026 series standings. Rowe said he is working through “conversations” to secure a seat, adding, “I think I’m ready for that.” He also referenced prior milestones, including becoming the first Black driver to win an INDYCAR-sanctioned race in 2021 at New Jersey Motorsports Park in USF2000, and winning the 2023 USF Pro 2000 Series title.
