New-look Volvo XC60 PHEV brings 124 miles of electric range
xCruzo Brief
Volvo has unveiled refreshed plug-in hybrid versions of its XC60 and XC90 with a focus on longer electric driving range. The new-look XC60 PHEV now claims 124 miles of electric range, the longest available for any PHEV in the UK. It uses an all-wheel-drive system built around a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, but expands battery capacity from 19kWh to 41.2kWh and adds a stronger electric motor. Two variants will be offered: the 178bhp T6 with 124 miles and the 246bhp T8 claiming 117 miles. Volvo says packaging preserves boot space at 468 litres, and battery charging from 0 to 100% takes four hours on a 16A home charger.
