Ferrari's Luce, about $640,000, faces a stiff speed-and-range contest with Tesla's Model S Plaid. The Luce packs 1,050 hp from four motors and uses independent-wheel torque control. The Plaid relies on three motors for 1,020 hp and strong straight-line performance.

Ferrari claims a 0–60 time of about 2.4 seconds and a top speed near 193 mph. The Plaid is reported to launch in under two seconds and reach about 200 mph. The Luce uses a 122 kWh pack and an 800-volt architecture with up to 350 kW charging, yet targets roughly 280 miles of range.
