Mitsubishi's New Nissan-Based Pickup Truck May Be Joined By A New Pajero In The U.S. - Jalopnik

Mitsubishi is preparing to expand its U.S. lineup with a new body-on-frame midsize pickup that reportedly will be based on the Nissan Frontier and built in a Nissan plant. The move could also bring a refreshed Pajero variant back to the market, according to Automotive News.

According to the report, Mitsubishi will not develop the model entirely in-house, with Nissan supplying the platform and manufacturing support. With the Frontier slated for a 2028 refresh, the U.S. launch could land in the next few years, and the truck may carry the Raider name or another variant. Even if not class-leading, a low-cost, new midsize pickup would be significant amid rising prices.
