Elizabethtown man, 34, killed in collision; child critically injured

An Elizabethtown man, 34, died in a head-on collision near Otter Lake Park on Highway 15 at about 5 p.m. Saturday when two cars and an ambulance returning to base were involved. The man in the other vehicle died at the scene, while a child in that vehicle was airlifted to a trauma centre by Ornge with life-threatening injuries. The ambulance occupants and the driver of the third vehicle sustained serious or minor injuries and were taken to hospital. Leeds and Thousand Islands firefighters, Leeds Grenville paramedics, and OPP collision investigators aided the response at the scene before the highway was closed for several hours and later reopened.
