Philadelphia Union Stay Red Hot in 2-1 Victory Over Real Salt Lake

The Philadelphia Union extended their run in MLS with a 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake at Subaru Park in Chester, Pa., continuing a streak of form that reached 13 matches unbeaten and seven straight wins since the World Cup break under coach Ryan Richter. Richter made history as the first head coach in league history to remain unbeaten in his first 13 games. After the international window, five starters returned, including captain Andre Blake back in goal after his stint with Jamaica. Frankie Westfield and Neil Pierre resumed their defensive roles, while Cavan Sullivan returned to midfield after USMNT debuts. The Union scored after a setup involving Sullivan, Westfield, and Damiani, with the latter finishing for a 31st-minute goal.
