The 68th Ford Fireworks: Here's where you can watch them

The 68th Ford Fireworks are set to mark Detroit’s “official start of summer,” with the Parade Company CEO and President Tony Michaels saying the show will be “bigger and better” than previous years. The fireworks take place on Monday, and organizers advise arriving early to access viewing areas at Hart Plaza, Belle Isle, and Spirit Plaza. Belle Isle opens to vehicle traffic at 2:00 p.m., while pedestrians and cyclists can enter earlier; access rules include a recreation passport and a ban on watching from the MacArthur Bridge. The event also adds Erma Henderson Park (capacity 1,500) as a less-crowded option and Ralph Wilson Park, opened in October, for ticket holders only with free tickets distributed through local community groups. The city will enforce a curfew for unaccompanied minors (17 and under) from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Tuesday. Coverage will stream live on Local 4 starting at 8:00 p.m.
