United's Carrick brushes off questions over his future ahead of Roma clash

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick dismissed questions about his long-term future ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League home match against AS Roma, saying his focus remained solely on ending a nine-match winless run. United are 17th in the Premier League with seven points from nine games and are dealing with their longest league winless streak since 1984. In Europe, they sit 21st with three points from three matches, while Roma are 15th with four points. Carrick said concerns about center back Lisandro Martinez’s commitment after his red card in the 2-0 loss to Chelsea were unwarranted, adding “the commitment is not an issue.”
