Bermondsey what's on: Our top pick of things to do this summer in SE1 and SE16
Bermondsey offers a diverse summer lineup, with Unity Music Arts opting for a single day of live music-making and salsa dancing rather than their usual monthly jazz days. The People’s Company presents Time Train at Southwark Playhouse, a musical celebrating Bermondsey and Rotherhithe’s history through song and storytelling with 25 local actors. RALLY returns to Southwark Park on Saturday, 29 August 2026 for its fourth annual independent-culture celebration, headlined by Blood Orange and featuring acts such as Daniel Avery live, Optimo, James K, Nabihah Iqbal, Smerz, and Roman Flügel. A free post-work pub crawl guides visitors through Waterloo and Lower Marsh, stopping at The King’s Arms, The Duke of Sussex, and The Pineapple.
White Cube Bermondsey mounts a major exhibition of Georg Baselitz’s new large-scale paintings and works on paper, challenging traditional conventions with provocative figures and upside-down compositions, while Queer Cinema Arzner stages a 540-minute movie marathon with a distinctive lime-green dress code and prizes. The season also showcases Late-Night Disco Party, a disco set by James and Jonny at Bermondsey Bar and Kitchen, highlighting Bermondsey’s vibrant, diverse cultural scene this summer.
