A 13-year-old boy died after a two-vehicle crash on the M4 motorway in Wiltshire, the police said, while a woman passenger suffered serious injuries. Wiltshire Police reported that the collision occurred at about 20:00 BST on Saturday between junction 16 (Swindon) and junction 17 (Chippenham) on the westbound carriageway. The teenager was a passenger in a Toyota RAV-4 that collided with a Renault van. Police said the woman passenger in the Toyota was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the drivers of the van and the car were not seriously hurt. Emergency services closed the westbound carriageway after the incident, and traffic on the eastbound lanes was later held for two hours to allow air ambulances to attend. National Highways said all lanes reopened earlier on both directions between the two junctions. Officers are appealing for witnesses and people with dashcam footage.
