This Week' Transcript 10-25-26: Rep. Ashley Hinson, Josh Turek & Gov. Wes Moore

In the ABC News “This Week” transcript dated Oct. 25, 2026, co-anchor Jonathan Karl speaks with Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, chair of the National Governors Association, during election-cycle campaigning. The discussion follows remarks played from former President Barack Obama, who appeared with Michigan Democrat Abdul El-Sayed during what the segment describes as Obama’s first campaign swing of the cycle. Karl asks whether Democrats will see a “big wave” and whether they risk overconfidence; Moore argues the base is energized and expanding. He also says Democrats underestimated the region’s competitiveness, citing continued underinvestment and noting his own election history as the third African American governor in U.S. history.
