Wounded US troops say Pentagon failed them on medical care
Nine U.S. troops wounded in an Iranian drone strike at Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, on March 1—one day into the war—say the Pentagon failed them in medical care, according to a new report. Army Lt. Col. Arturo Lincón reported damage to his left vertebral artery and an increased stroke risk, but the Army deemed his injuries not serious enough for admission to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. Maj. Stephen Ramsbottom said it took more than four months to receive MRI results after shrapnel was removed from his head. Chief Warrant Officer 4 Rodney Bearman said evacuation flights were dangerous, leaving him waiting 10 days for transport, only to be turned away due to a coding error that prevented his combat-wounded status from being recognized.
