Man threatened complainant with acid attack in knifepoint robbery, jury told
Joshua Joyce, 35, and Stevie Titler, 36, are accused of robbing a man at his home in Jaywick of £8,700 in items including cameras, lenses, Go-Pros, tripods, and a gold necklace. Prosecutors told the jury at Chelmsford Crown Court that the pair then forced the complainant to drive to a cash machine late at night to withdraw money, before ordering him to go to a petrol station so Titler could fill up her car. It is alleged Titler had been in a relationship with the complainant for about six months and the incident followed a dispute when he refused to give her money. The jury heard that at about 2am on January 8, 2022, Joyce demanded cash and PINs, while Titler searched drawers and threatened to “do his parents with acid” if he told anyone. Both defendants deny one count of robbery each.
