Yankees trade embattled reliever Camilo Doval to Pirates for two young prospects

The New York Yankees have traded right-hander Camilo Doval to the Pittsburgh Pirates, ending their 2025–2026 run with the late-inning reliever, according to multiple outlets. In return, the Yankees received two prospects: Double-A catcher Omar Alfonzo and outfielder Luis Cruz from Pittsburgh’s Dominican Summer League affiliate. Doval leaves New York with a 4.63 ERA across 58.1 innings from 2025 to 2026, after posting a 3.29 ERA in five seasons with the San Francisco Giants. In 2026, he posted a 4.54 ERA in 39.2 innings. The Pirates, trying to contend, entered Saturday at 55–56.
