Former NBA vet Tristan Thompson makes headlines suing for $2M and a vasectomy ultimatum - Cryptopolitan
Tristan Thompson has filed a Delaware Chancery Court suit against World Mobile Group over a $2 million endorsement deal. The May 2025 agreement promised quarterly WMTX token distributions up to $1 million annually for two years in return for Thompson promoting World Mobile and serving as Chief Digital Equity Officer, announced at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025. The relationship soured after World Mobile claimed overpayment of tokens; Thompson offered to credit the excess against the next distribution, which the company rejected. The three‑count complaint cites breach of contract and unauthorized use of Thompson’s name, seeking unpaid compensation, damages and an injunction to stop further use of his likeness. WMTX has fallen from about 98 cents in Feb 2022 to under 5 cents.
