Border czar Tom Homan attributed the deaths linked to confrontations involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to alleged noncompliance, while later acknowledging he had not reviewed crucial video evidence in at least one case. Speaking to Margaret Brennan on “Face the Nation,” Homan said anti-ICE sentiment has “emboldened” people to ignore law enforcement, and he argued that individuals would still be alive if they had complied with a vehicle stop under federal law.
