Dre Greenlaw's appeal denied, will miss game vs. Commanders

49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw’s appeal was denied on Tuesday, leaving in place a one-game suspension without pay for a sideline headbutt of Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV. The incident occurred during San Francisco’s 32-29 win on Sunday, and Greenlaw was ejected after officials reviewed the play at the NFL’s Art McNally GameDay Central office in New York. The NFL announced the suspension Monday and hearing officer James Thrash upheld it the next day. Greenlaw, 29, will miss the 49ers’ Monday night game in Santa Clara against the Washington Commanders (1-3-1), but is eligible to return to the active roster the following day.
