MSFT Stock Alert: Moonshot Could Give Microsoft Another AI Revenue Stream
Microsoft’s stock narrative is getting a new hook after reports that Chinese AI startup Moonshot is in early talks with Microsoft, Amazon and Alphabet about revenue-sharing for its Kimi K3 model. Moonshot is seeking up to 30% of revenue generated by K3-related services hosted on the cloud platforms. For Microsoft, the potential upside is less about selling one model and more about driving Azure usage—bigger model deployments can translate into higher computing demand and recurring cloud consumption. The deal faces a major obstacle: U.S. scrutiny tied to alleged intellectual property and chip-acquisition issues. In the background, Microsoft shares were up 4% year-to-date, with 31.2% gains over six months, supported by Azure recovery and stronger AI demand. For fiscal Q4 2026, revenue rose 18% to $90 billion, net income 31% to $35.8 billion, and Azure and other cloud services revenue climbed 43%.
