What happens after Florida's minimum wage hits $15? Will it stop?

Florida’s minimum wage for non-tipped workers will reach $15 per hour on Sept. 30, after the final annual increase required by the “Fair Wage” constitutional amendment approved by voters in 2020. That level will more than double the federal minimum wage of $7.25, which has been unchanged since 2009. After $15, future adjustments are tied to inflation rather than fixed dollar steps. Starting in 2027, Florida’s Agency for Workforce Innovation will publish the adjusted rate each Sept. 30 for implementation on Jan. 1, using the CPI-W unless federal labor changes its methodology. For reference, the minimum is $14 for non-tipped and $10.98 for tipped employees as of Sept. 30, 2025. Tipped workers can receive a tip credit of up to $3.02.
