Mezzetta recalled all jars of its Golden Greek Pepperoncini Medium Heat pickled peppers after a video circulated online appearing to show a dead mouse in a jar. The incident was reported by customer Tiffany Grazier, who bought the 32-ounce product at an Albertsons store in Phoenix, Arizona, and posted a TikTok on September 18. About a week later, Mezzetta announced an “urgent recall” due to a “potential pest contaminant,” saying it had contacted the consumer, investigated, and launched a voluntary recall. The recall covers jars with lot number 720106. Consumers were told not to eat the product and to return it for a full refund. No injuries or illnesses were reported at the time, and Mezzetta did not provide a count of affected jars, shelf locations, or best-before dates.
