Selma Blair Taken Into Custody at New York's JFK Airport After Allegedly Punching, Biting Delta Staffers
Selma Blair was taken into custody at New York’s JFK Airport on Sunday after allegedly assaulting Delta flight attendants on board Flight 938 from Los Angeles. Around 11 p.m. ET, the New York Port Authority Police Department responded to a report of a physically abusive passenger identified as Blair, 54. Multiple outlets reported that she allegedly punched one flight attendant and bit another, and that she also attempted to open an aircraft door during the flight. Blair was detained by Port Authority police and taken to a hospital for evaluation, while the two staff members also reported injuries—one serious enough to be hospitalized. The incident is being investigated by the FBI, and it was not said to have affected operations, with the flight landing ahead of schedule. Blair’s publicist stated she experienced a medical emergency and remained stable; the report also recalls a 2016 onboard incident involving alcohol and prescription medication.
