Tui among worst airlines for UK flight delays

Tui has been flagged among the worst airlines for UK flight delays, based on Civil Aviation Authority punctuality data analyzed by the Press Association. In 2025, the leisure carrier’s departures from UK airports averaged 20 minutes 24 seconds behind schedule. One route stood out for reliability problems: Birmingham to the Greek island of Zante, with an average delay of 46 minutes across at least 100 flights. Tui Airways, owned by Tui Group, is ranked the fifth worst for punctuality, with Air India worst at 36 minutes 36 seconds. The analysis covered scheduled and chartered departures by 34 airlines exceeding 2,500 UK flights last year, excluding cancelled flights. Which? Travel editor Rory Boland called the situation “unacceptable,” urging clearer communication of passenger rights and compensation. Tui said minimizing delays is a priority and argued it sometimes operates delayed flights rather than canceling them, which it says protects customers from longer disruption.
