Don Wilkins' Weekly Fort Peck Fishing Report 9.11.26

Don Wilkins returned with his weekly Fort Peck fishing report, saying the “bite” is still producing multiple opportunities across the lake. He reports that walleye and pike have been responding to trolling, with walleye taking well on crankbaits run 25 to 35 feet deep at speeds of about 2.1 to 2.2 mph. He adds that bottom bouncers and crawlers with a #1 Northland Wonderbread or silver-colored blade also caught fish when crankbait speed slowed. For pike, he notes some fish moving up shallower areas near weeds, with best results trolling at roughly 20 to 35 feet at 2.1 to 2.3 mph. Smallmouth are holding 25 to 35 feet on main-lake points, and lake trout are on deep flats from 115 to 135 feet.
