xCruzo Brief
A 15-year-old who went missing on a fishing trip in the Bering Strait was found sitting on top of an overturned boat, while two other teens died after being recovered unresponsive from the water. The U.S. Coast Guard said the small vessel departed Savoonga on Alaska’s St. Lawrence Island on Sept. 4 and was due back Sunday. At about 10:30 a.m. Monday, the Coast Guard and a nearby good Samaritan vessel located the sole survivor roughly 4 miles east of St. Lawrence Island. The survivor was taken to Nome, Alaska, for hypothermia treatment, along with the deceased. Authorities did not release names, though reports identified the survivor.
