Thousands descend on Colorado's Red Rocks to honor first responders for 9/11

Thousands of emergency responders and community members gathered at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre for the 9/11 Stair Climb commemorating the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. The event drew about 4,000 participants from across 35 U.S. states and the Netherlands, according to founder Shawn Duncan. Attendees included firefighters, EMS, police, and military personnel, alongside families and community participants such as cross-country runners from Windsor. Duncan said people who were not alive during 9/11 also joined to remember those who died, emphasizing keeping the story fresh for younger generations. The stair climb, which has been held for 18 years, has raised more than $15 million for firefighter services.
