Nearly 200K heated blankets, pads recalled due to fire & burn hazards: CPSC

Nearly 200,000 heated blankets and heating pads sold on Amazon are being recalled by JKMAX after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) received reports of overheating that can create fire and burn hazards. The recall, announced Thursday, says the internal wire heating elements can overheat. The company has received 577 reports of overheating, including 53 burn injuries. Consumers are told to stop using the products immediately and contact JKMAX for a full refund. The recall covers all JKMAX heating pads and heated blankets, including models JKMAX-002, JKMAX-7284B, JKMAX-6284B, JKMAX-10090B and JKMAX-8490B, CPSC recall number 26-778.
