Jaguar moved further with its shift to a fully electric lineup by unveiling the Type 01 in a high-profile event in New York. Part of its dramatic rebrand, Jaguar stopped selling petrol and diesel models in December, a decision that drew heavy criticism—including from Donald Trump—after ads featuring androgynous models in bright, avant-garde outfits showed slogans but no cars. Jaguar says the electric grand tourer will “reposition” the brand by targeting the luxury market while selling fewer vehicles at much higher prices. Expected pricing starts around £120,000, about double prior models, with 23-inch wheels, 1,000+ horsepower and a claimed real-world range of 400 miles.
