Lia Block Just Beat Every Car at Ojibwe, Not Just the Field in Her Class

Lia Block won the Ojibwe Forests Rally by two minutes and one second over the next-fastest car in the entire field—an overall victory rather than just topping her class. At 19, driving for Rockstar Energy-backed Block House Racing, she also became the first woman to win a U.S. national rally outright. The American Rally Association National format runs one combined event across multiple classes on the same gravel stages, with overall honors going to the fastest car overall, regardless of drivetrain. Block previously won the Open Two-Wheel-Drive title in 2023 at age 16, and last year she briefly moved to single-seaters, including F1 Academy. Her rally car is Hyundai’s i20 N Rally2, a FIA-homologated customer machine with a turbocharged 1.6-liter making about 300 horsepower, a five-speed sequential gearbox, and all-wheel drive. She entered Minnesota holding a two-point lead in the championship over Seth Quintero.
