Best places to retire? Florida cities dominate Top 10 list in US

Florida is dominating WalletHub’s new Top 10 Best and Worst Places to Retire in 2026 list released Aug. 31, with four of the top spots in the state. Orlando leads the ranking with a 63.38 score out of 100, followed by Miami (59.40) and Tampa (59.29). Fort Lauderdale is the other Florida city in the Top 10, ranking No. 8. WalletHub assessed more than 180 U.S. cities using 45 metrics across affordability, activities, quality of life, and health care. The report also cites Florida’s tax advantages, retirement-community presence, and year-round warm weather.
