Doral to move back to the Florida swing in March as part of PGA Tour reshuffle
The Cadillac Championship at Doral is returning to March on next year’s PGA Tour schedule as part of a Florida swing reshuffle that moves the Valspar Championship to early May and places the Arnold Palmer Invitational a week after The Players Championship, creating a three-week gap before the Masters. This year marked Doral’s return to the tour after a hiatus, with the event held in early May under humid conditions and a smaller crowd, prompting some players to skip the event. The schedule shift also relocates The CJ Cup Byron Nelson in Dallas to late April, and reduces back-to-back scheduling around Colonial. The PGA Tour will proceed from Dallas to Tampa, then Quail Hollow for Truist Championship before the PGA Championship. Tournament officials, including director Tracy West, cited positives in the changes, noting improved sponsorship and local engagement possibilities. The 2027 schedule is planned through the PGA Championship in Frisco, Texas, with implications for future calendar tuning and event positioning, while not impacting 2028. The reshuffle aims to balance marquee events with strategic pacing across the Florida swing and broader tour calendar.
