Doral to move back to the Florida swing in March as part of PGA Tour reshuffle
The Cadillac Championship at Doral is returning to March on next year’s PGA Tour schedule as part of a Florida swing reshuffle that moves the Valspar Championship to early May and places the Arnold Palmer Invitational a week after The Players Championship, creating a three-week gap before the Masters. The event’s recent return to Trump Doral, after a 2016 hiatus, featured humid conditions and smaller crowds, prompting several players to skip it. In response, the Florida swing rearrangement shifts the Valspar Championship to May, with Bay Hill’s timing adjusted accordingly. The CJ Cup Byron Nelson in Dallas is moved to late April, and the overall timetable will move from Dallas to Tampa, then Quail Hollow for the Truist Championship and the PGA Championship. Tournament officials expect stronger local sponsorship and broader interest, though some volunteers may be harder to recruit as part-time residents depart. The changes set the 2027 schedule through the PGA Championship in Frisco, Texas, while not affecting 2028, as organizers pursue a dual-track approach featuring signature events and other marquee tournaments.
