Causes for concern as the Bears face the Seahawks in Week 8
The Chicago Bears face the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8 after playing prime time for a second straight week, following Thursday Night Football against the New England Patriots. Seattle comes off a dominant 20-3 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. With the NFC North race tight, the piece flags several concerns for Chicago. First is Seattle’s defense, which has been top-10 in nearly every category through seven weeks and held down running back Kenneth Walker III in the previous game. Second is wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who leads the NFL in receiving yards (867), receiving TDs (eight), longest catch (82 yards), yards per game (123.9) and yards per touch (14.7), with more than 100 receiving yards in every game except one. Third is Seattle’s run game, with possible returns at running back: rookie Jadarian Price and Zach Charbonnet, the latter returning from an ACL tear suffered last postseason.
